Lester Willoughby (1911 - 1993)
Local artist Lester Willoughby was a lifelong resident of Belleville. He owned a radio, television, and appliance business on Main Street at the site where the pharmacy is located today.
He is remembered for his many local paintings and the art classes he taught for fifteen years after retiring.
Lester began teaching art classes in 1978 in the newly formed Belleville Senior Center. He also taught classes at Madison Area Technical College, the Oregon Senior Center, Monroe Arts and Activities Center, and in Brodhead.
