What is your computer policy? Computer users must follow these rules:

  • One hour maximum computer usage per day with the exception of testing, research, or homework.
  • Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Belleville or South Central Library System patrons must use their barcode to log on.
  • Computer passes will be given only to visitors.
  • One patron per computer.
  • No food or drinks at computer stations.
  • Loudness, vulgar language, and roughhousing will not be tolerated. You will be required to leave the library.  Anyone asked to leave the library will have their library and computer privileges revoked for one week.

What is your Internet Access Policy?

While the Internet offers access to a wealth of material to individuals of all ages, it is, however, an unregulated medium with a highly diverse user population. In offering computer network access, the library has no control over access points, which change rapidly and unpredictably, or over the millions of Internet users and the subject matter added daily to the Internet.

It is possible that individuals might access information they personally find offensive or disturbing. Individual users must accept responsibility for determining the suitability of content for themselves and their children.
