The Belleville Public Library and Community Center enjoys a long history in the Belleville community, having recently celebrated its 145th anniversary.  A new state-of-the-art, 13,000 square foot library and community center became the cornerstone of Belleville’s historic downtown district in 2021 and boasts a vibrant atmosphere that provides programs and services that bring people together, fosters creativity, and encourages lifelong learning. We preserve our storied past, enrich present lives, and prepare for an ever-changing future. 

 

Core values of the library include providing a space that is warm and welcoming, engaging in community life, remaining focused on library users’ interests and needs, ensuring equal and equitable access to materials, championing everyone’s right to intellectual freedom, while maintaining responsible stewardship of financial and material resources.   

 

The Village of Belleville is a small community located 30 minutes from a world-class research university, a nationally-recognized health care system, and positioned in the midst of a region with a thriving economy.  Located in southern Wisconsin, Belleville offers low housing costs, high quality local schools, and a wide array of amenities that contribute to a healthy and active lifestyle including easy access to the Sugar River, Lake Belle View, and the Badger State Trail. 

 

The Belleville Public Library Director will uphold our core values and provide leadership that first and foremost focuses on service to the community.  We are looking for someone to lead a creative and high-functioning team. Our next Director must be committed to connecting with our community, possess the ability to motivate and delegate, and demonstrate excellent communication skills and professionalism.   

 

Requirements of the position:

This is a government position, with all of the excellent benefits that the village of Belleville has for its employees. Health, dental, life insurance, and retirement. Salary range of $55,000-$63,000.
