February 2023 Art Display: Jonathan Wilde

Wilde’s oil paintings are a keen observation of the natural world. Throughout his career, he has shared a connection with the wooded hills and river valleys of the northern United States, as well as the pastoral landscapes of the Midwest. His connection with nature can be observed through an ability to depict animals living in their natural habitat. This is especially apparent through his passion for birds from their serene innocence to their tension for survival. Many of Wilde’s works are created en plein aire, which allows him to capture the essence of time and place within the landscape.
