Let's Talk About It: A Community Conversation About Preventing Bullying

OCTOBER IS WORLD BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH. EXPLORE THIS IMPORTANT TOPIC THROUGH OUR COMMUNITY READ EVENT.

The Belleville Public Library, in partnership with the School District of Belleville, is sponsoring a Community Read to engage the Belleville Community in bullying prevention. Two speakers will also help you explore what bullying does and how to prevent it.

Through our Community Read, we are offering a recommended reading list for families to follow along with their children. Bullying will be examined by sharing picture books, a variety of short texts and novel excerpts with Belleville students in grades PreK - 12th. The books are available from the library.

The readings will focus on a different theme each week:

Week 1: Make Friends with Someone You Don't Know

Week 2: STAND UP For Others

Week 3: Week of Inclusion

Week 4: How Do We Change the Culture of Our School?

For more information and to view the weekly reading lists for each age group, please visit the School District's Belleville Community Read site here.
